What a busy July we had! July 16 - 20 we served 2500 hamburgers at Lakefair. July 20-26th we helped with the 101 campers at Camp Leo (a summer camp for children with diabetes). July 31st we served 220 hamburgers and 40 hotdogs to the residents of Evergreen Vista Apartments.----------- Coming in September: NWLERC Volunteer Recognition Picnic on the 6th; Charter Night on the 11th; Lions Low Vision Fair on the 13th; Gearing up for the Annual Apple Sale. MEETING SCHEDULE ----- August 4th: Board Meeting ----- August 5th: Open Meeting and new member inductions -----August 12th: Capital High School principal Nancy Faaren will talk about educational initiatives and WASL preparation -----August 19th: Ginger Pasarelli will talk about the organization she founded to provide meals to disaster victims ----- August 26th: Financial Planner Bruce Bedford will talk about improving financial planning and retirement.----- September 2nd: Open meeting and visit by Zone Chair Art Weatherly ----- September 9th: Visit by District Governor John Doyle Jr.
